I can modify whatever sits between the client and server, i.e.,
the proxy software (as long as it sits on the original client
machine, because I don't have access to the server machine).
Had I figured out how to make JBoss do this proxying, I would have
installed it on the original client machine and been able to
configure JBoss however I needed. The catch is that I can't
modify any of the actual client or server code. JBoss would have
to transparently proxy requests from unmodifiable client code
to the unmodifiable server. Right now, my little hack proxy
does this. The only "requirement" is that it have the _Stub
classes used by the eventual client (since it is now an
intermediary client). It'll be another neat weekend project
to figure out how to remove this requirement :-) That, or to
figure out how to make JBoss do this work, since I'd rather not
have code duplicating existing well-developed functionality...
cheers.
