Below is an overview of the meeting and updated directions International Association of Software Architects (IASA) Presents: 'Leveraging BPEL and SOA to enable the age of process-driven IT' Thursday, March 17, 2005 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM Compuware 410 Blackwell St. Suite 200 Durham, North Carolina Abstract: Greg Ackerman will discuss Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL) and how it relates to the Enterprise Service Bus pattern and the Service-Oriented Architecture. WS-BPEL is a proposed standard with OASIS, which has been jointly endorsed and developed by IBM and Microsoft, as well as other industry leaders. Emphasis will be on imparting an understanding of this important new standard and how it relates to other technologies, and a demonstration of IBM's process modeler and BPEL process engine will be performed to exemplify the concepts. Attendees will leave with an understanding of these concepts as well as an appreciation for how leveraging BPEL and SOA can enable the age of process-driven IT.
