I don't know for sure if IBM's JVM supports this, but if it does, try
adding:
System.setProperty("java.awt.headless","true");
before you try to create the Frame. If that doesn't work,
I'm not sure what to tell you. At least with Sun's JVMs
this is the standard way to work around those X11 related
problems on Unix.
