There is a directory winston, which contains two variants of replacing the Winston text-rendering functions. One version uses itex2mml + MathML rendering provided by Lasem, while the other version assumes that pdflatex and pdf2svg are installed. The resulting SVG is then displayed using Lasem. Both versions still require some work (resolution settings, bounding boxes, caching, clean up). Comments & PRs are very welcome. Best, Alex.
