I have upload a new version of the sigle raster plugin developed by Nicolas
Lavoillotte.
This plugin use a gdal wrapper in java. It's very fast and you can load in
OpenJUMP big data without memory limits.
In few days all sources code will be available at this link :

What i have not yet done is the translation and I still need to copy the
dlls (some 7.6mb) for the ecw stuff to the CVS.
currently the imagery plugins/functions are activated. But I currently
feel we may deactivate them (especially the ecw support since it is dll
based) but leave the files and the jai libs in the core if somebody
likes to improve it.
But we can discuss this issue before the next release - if we leave
images as a plugin component.
(since i think other image plugins are probably better: Pirol ,Tanato).
