Hi, I consider the core version as the ultimate OpenJUMP. It has a very small download size, it starts very fast but it is still pretty feature rich with very few bugs. The extensions in the Plus version are for sure useful but they do not necessarily feel as production ready if not else but because they come mostly without translations. PostGIS plugin makes OJ to have two different PostGIS drivers which may baffle users. However, I do not think that the selected plus plugins are harmful exept perhaps the vertex image plugin which seems to at least double the initial startup time. And then there is the feature rich Sextante toolbox which have some irritating bugs which have nothing to do with OpenJUMP. For example if I save some image to D: drive while USB disk is connected and next time I do not have USB drive then I cannot use that operation at all. Ok, I can if I find and delete the sextante.history file from the disk first but I believe most users would think that this is an OpenJUMP bug.
QGis has a set of core plugins which have an official status and which are installed by default (but not activated). In addition there is a bunch of not-so-official plugins which can be reached, downloaded and installed directy from the software and even without a need to restart. It must have taken a lot of work to build such a nice system. -Jukka Rahkonen- Michaël Michaud wrote: > Hi Stefan, Ede, > > 1 - First, many thanks to Ede for the time he spent to polish > installers > which will make OpenJUMP much more attractive for many users. > > 2 - Yes Stefan, we should post some announcement.
