Maybe not :-[ (must I say that I do not edit so much ?)

But I think it is an important feature to be able to zoom/pan
during editing.
I know it is possible with shortcuts, but maybe not as easy
to find (as said before by Jukka).
My feeling is that it maybe better to keep the (ghost) shape
in all cases than to loose it when using a non-editing cursor
tool.
Just an opinion. Jukka and Peppe have a better experience
about what is user-friendly or not with these tools and you
know better than I do how to keep this part of the code
consistent.

Yes.
If you start a linestring, I think that
- cliking the linestring cursor tool again or any other editing tool
(tools of the editing toolbox minus select tools) should cancel the
shape.
- clicking select or any non editing tool (zoom, pan, measure) should keep
the ghost and make it possible to finish it after yo have moved or check
some attributes...

Of course, hope I made it more clear.

Probably. Sorry for the confusion. So many propositions have
been discussed that I gave my opinion without knowing exactly
how it was and what has changed.
