HI Matthias,
I followed all the discussion and I am very interested to your
considerations and contributions.
I have some questions about your patches (I am going to test ASAP when
it'll be integrated on OJ NB)
As I can see you are working on AbstractSaveProjectPlugIn.

These are some scenarios that makes Projects/layers saving a bit
complicated. Especially if you work with students or people with no/few
expereince on GIS

There are 2 aspects that I feel important

a) as you mentioned: the possibility to export project and files to a
unique Folder/Subfolder structure to make easy share datas (ex on a pen
drive).
This could be an independent plugin like "Export Project". A jmz compressed
file seems the right option.
But there will be some problems with raster layers (we have two ways to
open raster into OJ). As we don't still have a subroutine that saves these
raster files (actually Stefan Steinger and I are working around a plugin
that works only with SextanteRaster class)

b) We need a popup info panel that advice users if the Project file is
saved or not when thet try to close OpenJUMP. In my experience, users or
students can open OJ, create/open new layers, work with them, save them
.... and close OJ without saving the Project File. In this case they loose
all informations (path of files, styles, ect) that are the base for a GIS
project.
A software that I used a lot and I contributed to test/translate (Kosmo by
SAIG) has a popup panel that inform and let users to save the project
whenever they try to close the program. I realized that it is really useful
for many people.

thanks again for your contribution.

Peppe
