Hi Tomas. AFAIK, VPLS needs Tunnel Service PIC (In this case, you'd have "vt" interface, instead of "lsi" interface) More info about virtual ports:

I not sure about J-series, but I would say that you're facing a hw related issue. Hope it helps.
