I was thinking about the ptx1000 as a supercore fast mpls swapping p-box. I understand it can have (24) 100 gig !
I've seen the PTX1000 referred to as a supercore router , and I understand it has MPLS LSR functions (someone told me that it does not do mpls edge (pe) functions) ...i see/hear no mention of mpls for this 7280... https://www.arista.com/en/products/7280r-series http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/nanog/users/188708 ...i have heard of the NCS5500 but I think it only has (4) 100 gig and we are wanting 6 or more. Does cisco have a small form factor mpls router with lots of 100 gig ? - Aaron -----Original Message----- From: Jared Mauch [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, December 16, 2016 1:12 PM To: Tim Jackson <[email protected]> Cc: Aaron <[email protected]>; jnsp <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [j-nsp] Juniper PTX1000 There’s 3 main boxes in this space, the Cisco NCS550x, PTX1K and the Arista 7280 all with varying positives/negatives based on your use case. I’m not aware of many other full fib scale devices in this profile, if I’m missing some I’d like to know :-) - Jared > On Dec 16, 2016, at 2:08 PM, Tim Jackson <[email protected]> wrote: > > It costs waaaaaaaay too much is what I think about it.. > > -- > Tim > > > > On Fri, Dec 16, 2016 at 12:12 PM, Aaron <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Anyone using the PTX1000 ?
