One of the reason can be follow, Juniper for 1G interface has name ge-x/x/x and the name of 10G interface is xe-y/y/y. So, you need use different interface name for 1G and 10G interfaces in your configuration.

Nah, I'm well aware of that. The interface was named ge-0/1/0 and just had no input packets, until I disabled autoneg on the Huawei side (no configuration change on Juniper). Or was named xe-0/1/0 with the Arista rate-adapting transceivers and just worked.
