Hi all

Mary had the cheek, (and I still haven't quite got over it yet), to tell me on
Skype that I sounded like a Scotsman. Honestly, I've never been so insulted in
my entire life! ;-)

But no Mary, you still have quite a way to go before you understand British
English. All you understand is the way the Americans have mutilated, violated
and wilfully destroyed our language. The rights to English have been usurped
by those in power in Washington, New York, Los Angeles or wherever the
decisions are taken to mutilate the linguistics.

I mean, you can't even spell properly, even simple words like "colour",
"Humour" "organise" "surprise", everything like that has been utterly destroyed
by the US empire, those who proclaim themselves world leaders and yet, when the
horrible clarty stuff hits the fan, it's always them who are left in the clean
white suits. ;-)

Actually though, in all seriousness, too of our best friends are Americans and
they have migrated from Miami Beach Florida where they bought a house and
stayed for all of 2 months before deciding after a Christmas spent over here in
the UK, that this was the place they wanted to be. So be it. In the early
summer their residence visas came through and they now have taken up residence
in a really nice house about 5 minutes walk from where we live.

They have no real family left in the US and they're kind of like adopted family
to us now. Anyway I won't drone on but the point I'm trying to make here is
that at least not all Americans believe that we brits are quaint, sad wonky
people with an inferiority complex.

Now, to employ another Northern expression, it's high time for me to "haddaway".

It's a North of England expression meaning pleased for or emotionally

Of course you could not be expected to catch all our expressions as Americans
do not speak British English but a pirate copy produced with no regard to
copyright.
