That sounds like a really nice place you have found.

It has felt like Summer for most of May. Usually, here,
May starts out chilly and doesn't get hot until very near the
end of the month. There is lots of rain in a normal May but this
year, we have had hardly any rain at all.
We were supposed to break a record, but here right at
the last few days, we have started to get thunderstorms and more
normal weather.
You say,

Oh my yes! At least it is based on natural occurrences.
While the meter isn't as obvious as a distance measure, it is
based on 1-millionth of the distance from the Equator to the
North or South pole.
We've been about a month ahead of what normally happens
in Spring. The wheat harvest normally happens in mid June but it
has already started in some areas. I heard a cicada buzzing
today as I walked home from work and you usually don't hear
those around here until about the first day of Summer or June
21. It was quite some distance away and it is possible I was
hearing something else, but it certainly sounded like a cicada.
Have fun on your outing and enjoy the good times.
Martin
