Hello! Just a brief note to say that I haven't forgotten you guys at all and have thought of you often. I plan to be better in touch once I move to Lafayette as new life and new routines means re-establishing better priorities, like responding to email more often.
Yes, I'm much happier to move to Lafayette, IN, rather than Detroit. We toured a potential school for Ian in Detroit and walked in unnoticed and wandered the school for five minutes. We had to walk into a classroom and wave down a teacher before we were noticed. I told Kevin that anyone could walk in and arrange to kidnap a child unnoticed. It scared the daylights out of me. Not safe or secure at all. Lafayette has a much lower crime rate (they had to explain what a meth lab was on the news when I was there over the 4th of July). The people aren't so friendly; you can't just chat with any stranger, it seems. But I'm excited and nervous to start a new life with my family. It beats Kevin going to work on Sunday night in Lafayette and coming home on Friday. I thought of you, Lynne, when you once commented about not sleeping well if your other half wasn't there. These past two months have been long in that regard. Congratulations, Gordon, on your new job! Good luck, Sara, with your upcoming year at college! Lynne, don't work too hard!
