Not closely. SISC Scheme does have some advantages - most notably it
supports full continuations and in general better compatibility with
R5RS. As I understand it, it doesn't compile down to bytecodes, though
it supposedly does get decent performance.
I believe Kawa offers better performance, and better integration with
Java - if nothing else because Kawa compiles to standard class files,
so you can ship .jars, applets, servlets, etc in the same way
you ship Java .jars, applets, servlets, etc.
A real (more fair and more informative) comparison would be useful
but would take more work ...
