Title: RE: [Jxplorer-users] HTML view cannot handle multi-byte UTF-8

Thanks Vesa,

This is a known bug and has been fixed in Dec last year.  The fix will be in the next release.  See bug 1310169.

Regards,

Trudi.

Subject: [Jxplorer-users] HTML view cannot handle multi-byte UTF-8

It seems that HTML view cannot handle correctly data with

multi-byte UTF-8 characters. Those characters show just fine,

but update corrupts those names.

I can easily reproduce that error. I created entry with name

that includes euro signs: "cn=€sa €uro,ou=people,dc=relevantum,dc=fi"

When I update that entry using HTML view, euro signs are translated

to something that is viewed as square box.

Here is one LDAP-packet grabbed with ethereal:

LDAP Message, Modify RDN Request

Message Type: Modify RDN Requiest (0x0c)

  Message Length: 67

  Distingquishd Name: cn=\342\202\254sa

\342\202\254uro,ou=people,dc=relevantum,dc=fi

  New Name: cn=\357\277\275sa  \357\277\275euro

I'm using "JXplorer build JXv3.2b2 2005-08-18 13:46 EST" on Windows XP,

with java version 1.5.0_06.

Vesa
