I don't know about "certified", but the last STABLE release of K9 is V4.409.

Anything later than that is either ALPHA or BETA test, and is
"unpredictable" in its effects. These versions certainly should not be run
on any system where you can not afford to lose all your email (and
potentially, though very unlikely, all your data and software).

The nature of ALPHA and BETA releases of software is that they are released
to allow bugs to be found and eradicated, and so should only be run on test
systems where there is no data of value. As an absolute minimum, you should
have regular and frequent backups of any system on which you run pre-release
versions of software.
