One could definitely argue that there doesn't seem to be an apparent need 
for characters like !?=$% etc in an address, but the ampersand is a lot 
simpler and a lot more elegant than writing "_and_". Well, the address is 
set, so I guess I'll have to look for yet another mail client. :-(
