if i use an email client on my linux laptop, it does not cache entire emails
and entire attachments. why do you assume they do? deleting an email leaves no
trace. hackers, spooks and those who gain physical access to linux boxes cant
resurect deleted emails from harddrive formatted in ext2. i expected likewise
with all open source os and apps.
