K-9 uses up huge amounts of bandwidth on my device. Over the past two weeks alone, it consumed 90MB. I never let it poll. The same accounts were previously setup in some stock email app on a Samsung Galaxy S III mini. There, hardly any bandwidth consumption occurred, while all emails still reached me almost instantaneously.
