Hi

I am having problems with the stock Email app on my Nexus 5 in that
it works fine on WiFi but difficulty sending emails on the mobile
network. Receiving is always OK.

My gmail app also works fine on WiFi or mobile network but I prefer a
separate email app for my non gmail addresses.

I am thinking of downloading the K9 mail app. Can I run it along side
the stock email app both receiving from the same email addresses?
Will it send emails on the mobile data network with T-Mobile?

It is unlikely that your issue is application related. It may be that your mobile provider is blocking whatever port you are trying to access or that you need to authenticate when not on your WiFi network. But it probably has more to do with your mobile provider than your e-mail app.

While you could use K-9 and the stock app... why? I use the gmail app for gmail and K-9 for everything else. Many people use K9 for both Gmail and non-Gmail accounts, it handles multiple accounts quite well.

If your non-Gmail account is a POP3 account, you'll have nothing but headaches if you try to use multiple e-mail clients. If you're using IMAP then it would work fine but be very annoying.
