This has been requested for years.  "Use IMAP" isn't a solution, it's 
avoidance.  Pop3 is still real and still in use.  As a software developer (not 
google apps) I don't see the problem. "Root your phone" isn't a solution.  If 
K-9 can access its data stores as an email app, then why not create a simple 
class/function/whatever to export this data to a file that can be copied to a 
new android device and imported into a new k-9 installation.  You already have 
"export settings" which has only worked on 2 of the 6 phones in my family.  It 
failed "unable to export settings" on stock KitKat, htc and LG jellybean.  
I mean I'll put up with a broken or malfunctioning phone and only upgrade when 
forced to as k-9, the best android email app available, is a NIGHTMARE. 

So I challenge the K-9 developers to add full migrate functionality for the 
next release.  Until then, I lose months of confidential email and seek a 
substandard email app.  

Come on, just do it.  Yes, K-9 has bugs needing fixing but I'm sure 1 developer 
can be spared to write this...
