This has been requested for years. "Use IMAP" isn't a solution, it's avoidance. Pop3 is still real and still in use. As a software developer (not google apps) I don't see the problem. "Root your phone" isn't a solution. If K-9 can access its data stores as an email app, then why not create a simple class/function/whatever to export this data to a file that can be copied to a new android device and imported into a new k-9 installation. You already have "export settings" which has only worked on 2 of the 6 phones in my family. It failed "unable to export settings" on stock KitKat, htc and LG jellybean. I mean I'll put up with a broken or malfunctioning phone and only upgrade when forced to as k-9, the best android email app available, is a NIGHTMARE.
So I challenge the K-9 developers to add full migrate functionality for the next release. Until then, I lose months of confidential email and seek a substandard email app. Come on, just do it. Yes, K-9 has bugs needing fixing but I'm sure 1 developer can be spared to write this... B. G. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
