Here's the solution: To import old emails from your old cell phone, this worked for me transferring from a Samsung S3 to a Note 4 on the AT&T network:
First exit out of the K-9 Mail program on your old and new cell phones. Connect the old cell phone to your computer, double click on your cell model in My Computer and open the folders Phone/Android/com.fsck.k9 and copy the "files" folder to your desktop. Safely disconnect the old cell phone and connect your new cell phone. On the folder you saved to your desktop open the folders: Phone/Android/com.fsck.k9/files and do the same with the connected new cell phone, copy from the old cell folder and replace on the new cell phone these 2 files and folder: Folder and contents .db_att Data Base file .db DB-JOUNAL file .db-journal *The name of the 2 files and folder will be the same but with a different extension, the file name might be different for each user. You do not need to copy over the .nomedia file. Now open K-9 Mail on the new phone and you will see your old emails. > -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
