So "Google said we should" is the extent of logic for torching UI elements 
that work in favor of ones that don't. Got it. I guess it's already been 
clarified via response to Github issue #624 that the prevailing design 
notion is to torch users' experiences and see how many find the Github (or 
eventually the mailing list) and complain, rather than respect the 
apparently two million users who trust their most critical application 
choice to you.
