OK, now I understand what you are talking about. K-9 has two different
things referred to as the Inbox, which is confusing. If you click on an
account name, you get a view that shows only unread messages in the inbox.
Messages you have already read are hidden. If you go to the list of
folders, and click on Inbox, you will see the full contents of the Inbox,
both read and unread. So, the messages in question are hidden, not deleted.
