I am having check and sync issues, but they are offtopic.

Same account, same server, same username ...

Done. I will see with time. Need to wait a few days.

I don't understand the difference between sync and push in K9. I have read
the documentation a few times, but it's too much complicated for me. I am
getting old.

I thought that push means K9 keeps a permanent connexion with server, so
that it will receive new msg notification as soon as the server had a new
email (usually 1s) (requires a heartbeat), while sync means, port is closed
immediately after transaction (no data traffic between two sync). But after
reading the K9 documentations, I had the feeling PUSH means something else
in K9.

I have a misc bug related to sync; but will create a new thread (it will
talk about Thunderbird).

Really, it's simple: one Gmail box, with several Imap folders. Account has
about 50 or 60 folders; I need to access only 10-12 from the phone. I need
to be able to read messages offline (when no network). I need auto-sync
regularly every hour, or 4h). Want Android notification only for Inbox.

I want Inbox to be sync every hour (in fact i need a second one, call it
"Memo", but it's not critical) (even over GSM-data); other folders could be
sync only once a day, or only over Wifi, it would be better; but, if all 12
folders need to be sync at the same time, I can accept the whole hourly
sync to happen over GSM-data. What I am tired of, if to get new msg
notification for 11 folders that are not urgent.

Ideally, I want only one (or two) folder sync permanently (hourly, or even
push, even over GSM-data), and other folders, once a day (or every 4-8h),
over Wifi. But not critical if I can't reach this.
