Even this interface has a bug: if I select a part of your message BEFORE clicking reply, it will quote the whole message; Gmail would quote only selected part. Google pretends to be smooth, intuitive, coherent and homogenous, but it is not: similar products do not behave the same.

For this part: THANK YOU. I have way less notifications now, but folders still seem sync. > > In terms of polling, the frequency of "syncing" (explicit mailbox > updating) is at an account level. You can set "push" up the same way - though with > "push" there is no concept of "frequency". > > There is ... it's the heartbeat; on K9: account settings > fetch > advanced > refresh connexion Was I right in my definition of push ? or is it something else in K9 ? I can tel that class 1 is push, and class 2 is sync, but I Can not allow class 1 all the time (wifi + GSM), and limit class 2 to wifi. What I did to limit GSM data usage is to ask tasker to remove the SYNC flag at Android level when I loose wifi. K9 will sync accordingly to the sync setting of android. When I catch wifi, Tasker sets sync, and will perform everything. When I loose wifi, Tasker removes sync, and this limits GSM abuse (I have found that Play may perform heavy updates over GSM data, even when the tick box is set to prevent it. Many other apps just don't care about GSM, but most care about the sync flag). I would like K9 to be adult, and handle this by itself. Some users may want even more complex things; and I feel like without the help of Tasker, it's just impossible. And we are not discussing about esthetisme of a GUI: this has heavy impact on data usage, and billing amount. I have a large data fair use: 3GB (I usually use below 800MB if I don't look at videos, or use Skype); but some people close to me only have 50M: any mistake or bug in android can burn that fair use in seconds (4g can allow up to 6MB/s: you burn 50M in 9s ... An Android update can easily be 1.2G ). -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
