Somewhere among the last few versions, something changed with what happens if you send yourself an email.
(I'm using K9 latest from Google Play with Gmail as host) It used to be you could send yourself an email like "Remember to bathe" and it would land unread in your inbox. Now when viewed through the desktop client, it lands only in "Sent" mail and it's marked as read, so it's mostly invisible.
