I'm having the same problem that Ron is having. I have over 5900 messages in the trash folder and K-9 crashes when I try to delete them through the application.
I realize it's my own fault that I didn't stay on top of emptying the Trash folder. To be honest I didn't realize there was a trash folder until about a year into using the app. That said, now that I realize it's an issue, I need a solution for emptying it. Is there one? The IMAP solution is not useful for me as verizon uses a pop server. My last ditch solution is to remove the app. Assuming I do that, will the database file be deleted along with the app and take care of the problem?
