It's this part I'm referring to. This causes a difference of behaviour for that method. The point is that it would be useful to have the behaviour (ie a timing out pause) in both (or neither). That said, I am planning on rewriting the scheduler anyway, given recent events, so I may take the opportunity to do something somewhat more flexible.
