I looked at the branch you made and I whole-heartedly agree with the changes you made, especially the simplification of handling the tcpserver binding failure. Thanks for the positive reaction to the short description patch message format. After figuring out how to synch mercurial with svn and use the patch queues extension, it's not to hard to generate those.
