It can apply the rules of general contracts. It is in reality a contract of fees, whereby one party is bound to check and repair machines or anything else that normally is in need of periodic repairs and maintenance. For the maintenance services rendered, a fee is paid. Sometimes, the party in charge of the maintenance is bound by maintenance only or by maintenance and materials Question: What is the Islamic ruling for the contract of maintenance whereby the worker is bound to do the work only? Answer: Contract of maintenance which is not bounded with another contract, whereby the worker is bound to do the work only, or to perform the maintenance task Éand provide the necessary materials that is needed for the maintenance work. This contract is based on the contract of the leasing of work.
