She received her Bachelor degree of Economics from Cairo University/Khartoum Branch- Sudan in 1986, her master in Economics from IIUM in 1996 and her Ph.D. in Islamic Civilization- specialized in Islamic Economics from ISTAC- IIUM in 2003. She has published a number of papers and articles mainly on Islamic economics and Islamic finance.
