I could have sworn I told you not to make it a derivation when you suggested to do that (around the time of asking you to make CONFIG_RTC tell users not to enable it on PPC, since they probably want CONFIG_PPC_RTC). It's still not right in 2.3.0 since it's a derivation, when it's an either/or question (drivers/char/rtc.c does work on some machines, and not others).
