Checking the patches, it was Marcelo in 2.4, not Linus in 2.5. aic7xxx/aicasm/Makefile had .NOTPARLLEL (3.79 feature) for a while, until I cleaned up the aic7xxx mess. Linus mailed some 2.4 patches on l-k that used $(if) (3.78 feature), when I pointed out in private mail that $(if) was not available on 3.77 he changed the patch. I did not keep his reply but it was along the lines of "I use 3.79.1 and did not check if it worked on 3.77". _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
