            Bug ID: 499406
           Summary: Add a stop control
    Classification: Applications
           Product: Elisa
           Version: 24.12.1
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

It would be nice to have a “Stop” control. Currently, music cannot be stopped,
only paused. When paused, stream stays open forever. See for example pw-top if
using pipewire. There should be a way to effectively shutdown the stream.

The (big) downside of this, is that it will prevent pipewire to change the
configuration of the sink. For example, if elisa was playing a content at
44.1kHz, your sink is stuck at 44.1kHz even if you want to play something in
audioHD (streaming platform or whatever), it cannot be reconfigured for any
other rate.

There is a workaround: after pausing the music, slide the time slider to the
beginning or the end of the current song, and stream will shutdown, but it’s
not really handy…
