I'm actually on 6.4.0, apologies.
This is the output of the command:
before: activeFont=Nimbus Sans L,11,-1,5,400,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1
after: activeFont=Museo Sans,11,-1,5,400,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1,500
The font displayed is always the same (I think Noto Sans 9), and it is very
small.

I realised that the issue might be different, and possibly not a bug. The
system had some weird and whackadoodle problem with multiple screens, so I
tried to restart KWin (on X11) from TTY3. It didn't fix the issue (opening the
laptop's lid and closing it again did), but since everything worked correctly I
just forgot I had restarted KWin that way. I have now restarted it again, but
this time using KRunner, and the issue went away (i.e. fonts display
correctly). Is this expected behaviour? In any case, I realise it's quite the
corner case!
