SUMMARY
Dolphin does not remember the default application selected for any file type.
Even after choosing an app (e.g., VLC for video/mp4) and selecting “Remember
the application for all files of this type”, Dolphin asks again every time a
file is opened.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Open a file (e.g., a .mp4 video) in Dolphin.
When prompted, select an application (e.g., VLC) and enable “Remember the
application for all files of type video/mp4”.
Open another file of the same type—or even the same file again.
OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin prompts again asking which application to use.
The chosen application is not remembered.
This occurs for all file types, not just video files.
EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin should remember the selected default application for the file type, and
open all files of that type using that application without prompting again.
