            Bug ID: 513179
Summary: [Feature Request] Default to UUID for mount point
                    editing/adding
    Classification: Applications
           Product: partitionmanager
      Version First 25.08.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

In order to make the partition manager more reliable for end users who may not
understand identifiers and people who are just quickly trying to reliably add a
mount point to their system, I suggest that the partition manager default to
UUID on a partition if such information is available when adding a mount point
to fstab.

BIOS updates, drive failures, or other events may allow incorrect detection
order of drives and result in an incorrect mount order. In order to better
prevent this scenario for end users, I ask for consideration on adding a check
for a UUID identifier and defaulting to it if possible so that more reliable
mounting defaults are presented to end users.
