Result of me holding down 'x' after clearing the screen in a Konsole window.
SUMMARY
When entering a long string in Konsole, the word wrap, after passing a certain
point, wraps back to the beginning of the same line visually and begins to
overwrite the bash prompt, and eventually itself. A sufficienty long string
will still wrap normally after one round of this.
Also, even after backspacing out of the unusual state (where you've started
overwriting the same prompt), there is still some strangeness, as the cursor
stops at a different place on the line compared to before, and the prompt is
gone.
These changes seem to be totally cosmetic, and commands still run based on what
the line should "logically" be, not what the screen is showing you. Control-C
also breaks out from the altered state and gives a new prompt.
Resizing the Konsole window fixes everything instantly.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Konsole with the default profile in a small window and hold down a
letter (like 'a').
2. Wait for the string to be long enough to pass the invisible wrapping point
near the end of the line
3. Observe results
OBSERVED RESULT
Word wrap should only wrap characters onto the next line.
EXPECTED RESULT
Word wrap wraps characters into the same line and causes the various odd
effects mentioned above until the window is resized or a new prompt is made by
running a command or Control-C.
