I would really like to see some resolution to this.

They say that it was done for accessibility and for visually impaired persons
to know what was selected or has focus.

I do not agree with this opinion. I find it much harder to know what is
selected with this new system.

Currently, with this selection as it is, I have no idea what is actually
focused. I can look at the file manager and see 2 different items selected in
different ways (keyboard vs mouse).

For example, in Dolphin, I had a folder I wanted to compress. It was
highlighted with the keyboard indicator. So it was selected clearly right?

I right click and pick the Compress menu option. And somehow, it did not
compress the folder that was selected with the keyboard indicator, but the
entire contents of the folder it was in.

So how is this better or working correctly? When the keyboard focus indicator
outright lies about the current selection. Or at least doesn't match between
keyboard and mouse. There should not be 2 separate selections one for keyboard
and one for mouse.

That is confusing.
