So you could easily test it by running the appimage on an alsa-only system. I know that most desktop systems came with pulseaudio by default and these days with pipewire, so systems without this have likely been under-represented in testing. However I believe that the appimage _should_ be able to run with alsa only. The error message anyway does not indicate anything related to audio at all.
