Driver bugs can be triggered by some software while not being triggered by
others. It's quite common.

I of course can't completely rule out that there's a bug in KWin that causes
this, but as it is exclusive to more recent Nvidia driver versions, it's rather
unlikely.
If Nvidia developers find KWin is doing something wrong, I'll be happy to
investigate and fix it, but without further information, it would almost
certainly be a waste of time.
