Bug ID: 515678
Summary: Files created in the desktop folder by external means
appear on the wrong monitor
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.5.5
Reported In:
Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: "Manage Desktop and Panels" window
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
In a multi-monitor setup, if you have desktop icons enabled (which I assume
most do), if you create a file in ~/desktop the icon for that file does not
appear on the main monitor. On my setup it appears on the second monitor.
This becomes particularly problematic when the second monitor isn't active, as
it will still go there with no way to reach it.
Included in the steps to reproduce are things that (I think) may be related
that might have caused this.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect two monitors
2. On the second monitor, delete any panels that exist
3. From the main monitor, duplicate the panel onto the second monitor
4. Open konsole run "touch ~/Desktop/test"
OBSERVED RESULT
A test file will appear on the second monitor.
EXPECTED RESULT
The test file should appear on the first monitor.
