I’ve filed a new bug report as an enhancement request focusing on graceful user-facing handling of missing EDID cases in KScreen, and linked this bug in the “See Also” field: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=515697 This is intended to improve recovery and UX in cases where the underlying cause is outside KDE’s control.
