Bug ID: 515878
Summary: Suggestion- Add Number of Active Jobs setting to Job
Queue Mode, Persistent Job List Window
Classification: Applications
Product: krusader
Version First 2.7.2
Reported In:
Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I frequently move lots of files / directories, some of them rather large. Many
times, I want to move small files on the same file system while it's moving a
large object. In order to do so, I need to click on the down arrow next to the
job progress indicator in the toolbar and click on the play button icon to
start each job. This quickly becomes very tedious, especially since the drop
down goes away every time a job starts. It would be nice to have a persistent
window showing the job list where I could start jobs without the list
disappearing all the time.
A feature that would eliminate the need for this is to incorporate something
like JDownloader has - a numeric setting that controls how many jobs are active
at once.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start copying a large file from a network / flash drive to your hard drive
with job queue mode enabled.
2. Try moving a bunch of files on your hard drive to another directory, one at
a time.
3. Be annoyed at having to click twice to move each file on your drive rather
than having one of the described features.
OBSERVED RESULT
See above description.
EXPECTED RESULT
See above description.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
I am running krusader 2.7.2 (latest available) on Ubuntu 22.04
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Another suggestion to improve a piece of software I've used multiple times
daily for most every day of the past decade plus rather than an actual bug.
