Can you try the steps outlined in https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_with_GDB ? Basically installing gdb, then attaching to the plasmashell process inside gdb. You'll have to connect to the system over ssh if you can't get to a TTY.
