Thanks for the bug report, and the detailed troubleshooting. That's helpful.
The thing that stands out in your system logs when your device auto-connects is
this, it's the main difference between your logs and mine when I connect my
earbuds:

Jan 24 13:55:20 kathdesktop bluetoothd[1144]: Authorization request for
non-connected device!?

Can you try connecting your device while running the command line tool
bluetoothctl? This will give us some other details to see if there's an
underlying system problem.

1. `sudo systemctl restart bluetooth`
2. `bluetoothctl`
3. `scan on`
4. Connect your device normally through the Bluetooth widget / autoconnect. The
bluetoothctl prompt should change to the device name, and you'll see some
output before that line. Copy and paste that output, starting with "Device xxx
Connected: yes" into this report.
5. To exit the bluetoothctl prompt, type `quit`
