What I'm talking about is the current behavior of discover - when it does work well! - that it needs to open and close the GUI (automatically) in order to start the unattended updates! I tend to think this can be a source of problems! And I'm speculating/wondering if this maybe the cause... if it somehow fails to open-close itself, I mean... (unattended updates are one of the major reason for some of my "friends" to be able to stick to plasma instead of opting for another DE! I, personally, also think this is very useful!
