SUMMARY
This relates to the desktop version on linux. When notification sending between
devices is enabled a notification erroneously opens a listening port. This port
remains held after the notification has been sent. The port involved would
normally be used during a file transfer. With repeated notifications all the
ports reserved for file transfer are now unavailable. Attempts to share a file
fail.
This was originally reported on bug 508301. It was marked as fixed but it was
not fixed. There are other reports of kdeconnect's ports being held.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure two PCs to send and receive notifications.
2. After some time ( dependent on notification activity ) attempt to share a
file.
OBSERVED RESULT
The target PC did not receive the file. There is no notification of the
transfer failure. If you monitor the logs you will see that the transfer failed
due to no ports being available.
EXPECTED RESULT
The target PC should show a popup - file transfer progress and completion

be closed after.
